In December 2010 the Heart of Georgia Transition Council workgroup began meeting to form the Heart of Georgia Transition Alliance. The workgroup met throughout the year in 2011. In December of 2011 the Heart of Georgia Transition Alliance informational, recruitment event was held at Dublin Country Club. The first formal meeting of the Heart of Georgia Transition Alliance was held on January 10, 2012. Since then the Heart of Georgia Transition Alliance has worked to improve the transition services for individuals with disabilities through projects and events such as the I CAN Conference, the HGTA Christmas Gala and Champion Awards, local and state presentations on transition services, and other transition related events.
