Serving the Heart of Georgia School Districts
As students transition from high school to adulthood they will be provided access to appropriate support to become productive citizens as measured by all students achieving their post-secondary goals

Goals were developed based on priorities and data from school districts and communities to help students with disabilities transition from high school to post-high school options including employment opportunities and post-secondary education. Don't forget to check out the HGTA Goals.
The membership the HGTA is comprised of educational personnel, transitional agencies, parents, individuals with disabilities, business representatives that are either providing services to individuals with disabilities or are employers of individuals with disabilities. We welcome your input and support as we work to improve outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

Providing Transition Related
Activities and Support
Since 2012, the Heart of Georgia Transition Alliance has supported local school districts in providing training, support, community awareness, and student related activities to help increase post-school outcomes for students with disabilities.
Alliance meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every other month and begin promptly at 10:00 AM. Attendees may attend virtually or in person. We welcome new members. Please register to attend.
HGTA Community Forum on Transition Services
The annual community forums bring together school district personnel, parents, individuals with disabilities and transition service providers to discuss transition related problems and solutions.
Heart of Georgia Champion Awards and Christmas Gala
The Heart of Georgia Champion Awards and Christmas Gala celebrates the gainful employment, and gifts and talents of people with disabilities in the Heart of Georgia Region. This community awareness event brings awareness of the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and serves as an annual fund raiser to support the annual I CAN Conference for high school students with disabilities in the Heart of Georgia Region.
